SPAR 2
nice one spar, great to see some great harris hawk action how long did it take your harris get used to the hood? Some take to it like water off a ducks back and some are hood shy but all in all she took about a week when I picked her up at 22 weeks then after the moult the hood was back on from day 1 Quote Link to post
SPAR 2
No nor was I, No ferrets, no dogs just me and my birds and about 20 pairs of boots by the end of the season. The rabbits around this way are just to easy for a fit harris, well any bird for that matter I like feather. Its great later on in the season went the estate next to my flying ground starts giving the gamebirds some hammer, pheasants and partridge everywhere and Im not talking 5-10 partridges in a covey Im talking 500-1000 is crazy mate. I would hate to think what it would be like if I had the time to hopper feed or something like that Quote Link to post
wag 13
i think what arnie was getting at was your bird taking a stoat spar and could mistake it for a ferret, thats why he asked about you using ferrets with your harris . Quote Link to post
jasper65 6
Looks like a weasel to me to be Honest? stoats are stoatly different ...... Jasper Quote Link to post

jasper65 6
It was the head shape and size that gave it away for me more than the tail , its saying weasel to me I must admit, Mind you there's plenty of Weasels in this game ... This is the only pic I have of a dead stoat which is stoatly different .... Jasper Quote Link to post
SPAR 2
Well Im sorry to upset most of you but it was 100% a big dog weasel and a hen partridge at first I thought it was a rat by the long scream it gave just as the talon's were getting tighter and deeper. Quote Link to post
