Ok i shoot 3 Air Arms one s200 and 2x 410's and i need some advice

Since i have bought the guns i have only used airarms silencers, and i have come to the conclusion that they are useless,

A friend of mine uses a parker hale silencer and its tiny, but compared to the airarms it is whisper quiet,

Does anybody use something different, i need it to be quieter and im not sure what to get just yet!

any advice would be much appreciated

A lot of people here swear by the Weirauch silencer for the ability to silence any gun really well due to that German engineering which is excellent. I actually use one on my Sheridan CO2 pistol and I can not hear anything from the muzzle at 7-10 yards. If anyone knows the Sheridan pistol well then you'll all know that un-silenced it sounds like a bullet hangun..

My mate "goldenarms" has a AAS400 and recently put a Weihrauch silencer on it and has had no end of bother with it, so much so that on Friday he took it back to the shop and swapped it back for a AA one....if you send him a PM he will give you the crack.

Well funny enough i was messing with a silencer tonight , and i stripped out the inside of an airarms one . What i took out was a spring , with a blue nylon mesh over it and a foam like substance round it , dirty and smelly , and quite noisey !! Couple of weeks back i was talking to a guy who made his own and used , a hair roller and a scouring pad ! So i took all the bits and cleaned them replaced the spring with the hair roller , i slit one side so i could roll it tighter , and wrapped it in the scourer ( only the green part from one of the sponge pads ) put the whole lot together and tried it . Well to be honest i was supprised that it did make a difference ,and it was noticabley quieter . There was only one baffle in the airarms one , so i might over the next week or so make a couple of baffles to split the silencer into about 4 sections , and see what happens . Ill keep you informed on my progress , atb Buster

If you get one of my silencers you won't hear your rifle, they are quieter than Weihrauch.

Jon

So do we get a discount on THL or can you do a kit for certain types , eg - i have an AA silencer can you send me , or fit for me , new insides so that it will do a better job than its already doing ?

Those silencers look fantastic portland Jon I bet one would make my King Ratcher even more silent? I'm also intrigued by the thought of an air stripper, can you make them for the King Ratcher?

I must admit, the silencers on the s200 I've got here, and on my Dad's s410 are quiet enough, and they're both standard air arms silencers. :hmm: I think I'd have a job getting them quieter than they are at the moment.

I don't know what's the matter with folk these days, give 'em an old HW35e and then they can come back & complain about how loud it is!

Its not a case of comparing it one to the other, your air arms silencers might be fantastic, mine are not and i have compared them to the tiny parker hale silencers, and if that is quieter, then mine sure as hell can be!

Portland Jon i may just be in contact!

I'm with you all the way with the Weirauch silencers hyperion not only do they work well but the make my pistol look like an assassins tool, which for me customising everything I own makes me smile :D.

They say that look are not everything but when you combine looks and functionality together you just can't beat it :notworthy:

My mate use's a handmade silencer £85 worth but i thought all gas powered air rifles where quiet because your not hearing the noise of the spring when you fire it ??

Don't you believe it pal!

Might I suggest you try firing a PCP outside without e silencer on it, then try again but with the silencer fitted on the rifle - I know which option you will prefer! ;)

If you fire a PCP with no silencer on it, you will find that its almost as loud as a 'powder burner' rifle - the noise from an un-silenced PCP is quite surprising, I think you'll find? lol

Regards, :)

Grim.

hi Jon

you say that your silencers are quieter than the weihrauch i have one on my AAS410 and they are pretty quiet but are they quieter than the logun QGS {quantum gravity sound suppression system silencer?}. if so how much for one for my AAS410?

regards
