that proposed law was defeated a couple of years ago in 06. but yeah we got citiots that are completely out of touch w/ reality when it comes to wildlife. since ya'll actually have a ban it shows the disease is worldwide. we really need to lock them up before they do anymore damage.

chris i agree as regards to proposed law and actual law ,and know hunting was alive and well ,but i did'nt realise the bill had been defeated.

but was just surprised, there was a proposed law as in my head thought it was fairly "excepted" form

of hunting in the states

Just pointing it out, that all :victory:

No worries, Roybo. I wasn't having a dig or anything. ;)

California is a strange place... they seem to be anti pretty much everything. Except gay marriage!

From what I've seen of the US you can't ask for a more hunting friendly part of the world. As you're probably aware I have more of a pro-shooting role on this forum but a gun ban, in Washington DC, was recently overturned as being unconstitutional. Ask yourself what the chances of that happening in the UK are?

People will always propose silly laws based on their knee jerk reactions of the time. One thing the Americans are way out in front with is awareness. Their pro hunting groups are very active and work tirelessly to make sure their rights aren't impeded. They keep fighting. We keep rolling over and conceding. Someone further up wrote bloody yanks... I see that and raise you a lazy Englishman!

Good thread though. Thanks for the read! ;)

very true that (lazy brit i'd say)all we seem to do is moan after the fact,

my brother-in-law has been in the southern states of america a year or so now,

having never hunted in the uk,and being apathetic to it all,

has recently seen the light after being introduced by a work collegue,he's hooked now

and realises why i was so angered by a ban,

he says it is a way of life in the area he lives and would be an "outsider" if he was'nt involved

hope they keep their way of life, :victory:

there always trying to ban something. in my home state there's a cell of these nutjobs down in the cities trying to ban greyhound racing down there. problem is they do occassionally get something passed like they did in new mexico and louisiana. michigan proposed a ban on dove hunting can't recall off the top of my head if that one went through. chicago was working on banning racing pigeons. the list goes on.....
