You may leave your helmet on the Hat Stand Dixy

You are perfectly correct.

If you have an FAC and the other person does not, he is not allowed access to the cabinet in which Firearms are stored as he does not have the relevant certificate, holding a mere Shotgun Cert.

He would need a separate cabinet. There is no issue with him installing a new cabinet with you and him using your address for his Certificate.

Access is the key word here.

thats very true actually dixyhmr i didn't think of that. i guess it wont be allowed unless he applies for a fac instead which would probably be sensible if he needs to share your cabinet.

If he applied for an FAC, you would need to have all of your guns put onto his license and he would also need to have a shotgun cert because you have a shotgun and that gun be entered on there aswell.

Be Easier to install a new cabinet IMO.

i may be wrong, but if there is an additional means of security on the firearms. eg trigger lock. is that not enough?

The FEO would be very borderline to Grant a certificate with the security only being divided by Trigger Locks.

If I were one, I would be looking for the Firearms only to be able to be removed by the cert holder.

as far as i know sharing a cabinet goes you do not need to put each others fireams on each certificate, my son and i share the same cabinet, we asked the feo about this when he came to interveiw my son, he said there was no need because i have my guns and he as his,our shotguns are also in a shared cabinet again no need to be on each others certificate if you sell one you then have to amend both certs

my father and i share the same cabinet and our shotgun & firearms are now identicle. When i bought a my .223 the police said i could keep it in the cabinet but it would have to be chained and padlocked seperately within. the same with the 223 ammo. i did this for a few weeks until my father got his variation to use the 223. the police said that if we want to have 1 cabinet and 1 ammo box then our certs have to be identicle even the ammount of ammo to be stored.if not then seperate locks and chains etc are needed.

First off it's a certificate...

There will be no problem him keeping his shotgun in your cabinet if you also get a SGC and list it AND keep the key (access) yourself! "Sharing" the cabinet causes more problems as others have outlined!

SG ammo does not have to be stored in a cabinet, you just have to take reasonable precautions to keep it safe..

Easy
