Never used to salt to clean , i may try that as the rice gets stuck in the bottle & your messing trying to get it out for ages

I have found that, if i change the water out everyday, even if its still nearly full, it never goes green, works for me.

i made my self a bottle cover when i was looking after a friends ferret ,it worked very well and also kept the water cool,and she took it home with her

Same as THE ONE i use a length of small chain with a bit water in the bottle give it a good shake job done.

I use the thermo bottle covers,no light no algae.Supposed to stop freezing down to -15c aswell

A squirt of household bleach in full bottle of water let it sit for 5mins,rinse clean,job done for another week
