SUNDAYBAIN 19
A nights lamping brought 22 long eared rabbits 17/17 to my 16month saluki/ghound upload photo's later . So what is your personnel best 1 dog well done you, I would say you are an example to us all. Can i ask what you did with the 22 long ears Quote Link to post
Guest reload
Best ask your self can the area take 22 hares being killed?? If so fair enough I suppose, I take the odd one or two as that is all the population can take locally. Slaughtering game for no other reason than to see what your dog can do, smacks of a young blood thirsty person who's not a Countryman. I hope the hares were put to good use.... Quote Link to post

Guest reload
Bunch of TOFFS, your have some issues markbrick  I suppose in your eyes everyone hunting a pack of hounds or pheasant shooting is a toff.... Makes me wonder how some people get on in the countryside it really does. You are right though it is better than mugging grannies, but a lack of repect for quarry really fucks me of and I am sure most real hunters feel the same. Quote Link to post
Guest smashygadge
to be honest havent been in this game long .but i cant see a problem, the fields are cut these feckers aint as slow as some people like to make out, and most certainly get a better chance against a dog than a gun.and would personnaly prefer to see an animal run against a dog than sit out in a feild and be popped of for fun anyday Quote Link to post

chartpolski 23,884
I was talking to a guy just last week who was part of a keepers shoot at six mile bottom that shot over 900 hares in two days !! So I can't see the problem in lamping a few with the dogs. In answer to the origional question, I've had two in a night, but that was by accident, when lamping rabbits; I personaly prefer daytime for hares, pre ban, of course ! Cheers. Quote Link to post

The hares where I encounter them must be good'uns, 'cause no collie would take them !LOL !! And if you are out after a bag of rabbits, all a hare does is tire your dog out and lessen you chance of a good bag of rabbits ! There are times when me and LDR go out for specific quarry, but that doesn't prevent the odd "accident" !! LOL !! Cheers. Quote Link to post
