Guest lurchers&terriers Posted September 13, 2009 Report Share Posted September 13, 2009 well what iv experience with all the lurchers iv worked or seen worked, hares are definitely easier in the night with out a doubt and anyone who says different are either deluded or don't know what there talking about. a daytime hare is the ultimate test a lamped hare isn't. what would anyone want to kill that amount of hares for anyway? f*****g donkeys. lamping big bags of hares proves nothing whats so ever. if any of you hare lamping boys want to come and try some day time hares up here i got plenty to spare so come and have a shot, lets see if you can catch 17 prime scottish brown hares in the day here. i myself have run my dogs on hares at night to see the difference and i wont do it anymore its to god dam easy and mr hare the master of all quarry deserves better wheres this ground your hunting then. its the vast open space between his ears. he does talk some shite. not as much shite as you al bundy wanker of the top grade if there ever was one and im definitely not alone in saying that. its just im not scared of saying that. as for where i hunt, its called gods country for a reason. you can say im talking crap as much as you want as i couldn't give a flying f**k. i just speak the truth and for bawbags like you the truth hurts dont it. the forum could do with out some of the lads like the ones quoted above. you cause more damage than good to this forum and bully and harass a lot of good people off here. always looking for a bandwagon to jump on.i do the forum a favour and f**k off Quote Link to post

Ok then "lamped hares are easy".. not as testing as daytime but not easy mabie one but not when you start geting into numbers.. I will even admit i run hares for the money it pays well with the game dealer.. And there is plenty to be had, Farmers want them off who am i hurting??? FUJI 17,327 Posted September 14, 2009 Report Share Posted September 14, 2009 pre ban my best was 14 out of 16 runs i think, with a bullx, , there are reasons to cull hares, , pre ban if i got asked by the farmer to get a few with the dogs i would, and i would have to do it on a night time as there was to many game birds about in the day, , what would you do ? tell him to f**k of i dont think so, , if i did i would lose my permission then he would have 24 guns in rounding hares up and shooing them all over which normally leaves more wounded than killed, , , a local keeper i beat for told me when he 1st got his job he was asked to reduce the numbers of hares, they shot 2 days of 200 hares and a half day of 100 hares, , on one estate ! and they was only reduced, not all fields was shot, , so what would you prefer ? for a lad to go out lamping and kill a few with the dogs to keep the numbers down or massive shoots to go out when they get loads about, ? and all this talk saying you think your dog good, then come down and try him on 5 hares in the day, when someone puts a post up saying he had a good nights lamping rabbits you dont give um shite sayng come down and try catch 20 bunnys in the day single handed, , rabbits are alot easier on a night than what they are in the day, but no one ever says fek all about leave them for the day time its to easy lamping them , , this site is mad at times, , to many people jump on band wagon, rant over atb, , Someone with a bit of common sense..hallelujah .All the best PP. December to January a hare is no easy task for a dog day or night especially if it has been exercised before. If Im included here Joe ,let me say that because I dont lamp hares ,means I condemn those who do, each to their own. I wonder how you know those who dont lamp hares are "out early morning/evening ,as soon as the corns cut , on the stubbles kicking hares up"? I think that is an assumption, not backed by proof. As you know, hares run immediately after the harvest are easier to catch ,because 1. they are not as strong as the winter hares,and 2,.they are somewhat disorientated by losing their natural cover and habitat changing. I don't see why there has to be an immediate divide between lampers and day time lads,I do both activities and most of my friends do too. I just dont lamp hares, my choice. My experience of the stubbles just after cutting is that the ground is usually far to hard to run on, but then Preban I never ran hares before mid October. I agree not all lamped hares are easy ,but I think you will agree they are easier than daytime ones. The dog has not been bred that could catch 17 in the daytime. Quote Link to post
