midnight 657
we enduced a bitch last year maybe the one before that. she came in season but never sweled up enough to be covered . she never actual let the stud dog try to mount her at all. the injections where massive and i think we had to inject her every day for 10 days . she was very saw and hated it we hated doing it to her . the hole cycle cost us £50 from a greyhound vet we use . i would do it again if i had no other choice but not on a running dog as there skin is so thin and the sweling and bruising was terible in her scruff . i think a bull breed would take the injections better . all the best with the bitch mate . baz 464
thanks for advice midnight, i thought there was only one injection involved and it brought them in, looks like ill have to wait Quote Link to post
midnight 657
good choice mate . im not convinced the drugs are to actualy let the bitch take . as most greyhound guys just want the bitches throught the cycles so they can race them . we where told that it is to get a bitch pregnant . but as i say it dint work on her . the best thing come to those who wait and waiting for a bitch to break down is one of the hardest . i have a bitch that is slowly puffing up and acting the twat she has been doing this for about 3 weeks now . still no blood . the local farm terrier visits every day now chapping over her piss and trying to mount . but she is nasty as fook with him. i wish she would just get it over with so we can have some normality back to the house.. but as i say it can only be a matter of time. Guest Top Chalker
Baz I think jabing a dog to bring it into season can have some after effects on the pups , the bitches have big litters and the pups are piss poor.. One lad usedthis method and lost a whole litter , and the other litter was piss poor .. Ask a big greyhound breeder they will no the in and outs of it ......... Quote Link to post

Dear Top Chalker May I offer a little advice. If you don't know the full "in's and out's" of a procedure, please don't pass on scare stories. The best advice to give Baz would be for him to talk it over with his Vet at the local Surgery. All the best Bandit P.S. Aren't we all Dog men, of one shape or another. Quote Link to post
