Malt 379
I was woke this morning by a phone call from my brother at 5:30, he lives next door but one. He'd got up to give his baby a feed, and heard something rustling about in the bin outside his back door. He went outside, and was greeted by two ferrets beating a hasty retreat. The roof of my ferret court had been ripped off in the wind last night, resulting in 5 free roaming ferrets. We've got 3 back so far, we're just a poley jill, and a poley mitt type hob down. Hopefully either we'll find them, or they'll be spotted by one of the neighbours, so I'm not overly worried as yet. If anybody ever finally manages to breed a ferret with a homing instinct, will you do the decent thing and give me a shout? Bloody animals! Quote Link to post
andy s410c 61
Hope you get them back Malts The wind blew the court roof off looks like longer screws will be needed to keep it secure Quote Link to post

It was bloody windy here last night mind you, I thought the neighbours apple tree was going to come down at one point.. Quote Link to post

Malt 379
You must of have had some strong winds! Glad you got 3 of them back, good luck finding the other 2! When it's windy round here, it's bloody windy. We get the brunt of the south westerlies... I'll hold my hands up, I should have made sure that the roof was more firmly attached, I've lived here all my life and I've even heard the odd tin shed take flight in the middle of a good blow... Malt 379
luky youve got so many back soo fast!!!! good luck with the hob mate, its allways guttin when they get out but when its not your fault........ :realmad: lol Cheers mate. I take their food down to them in a carrier bag, and every time I feed them, I make a point of giving the bag a damn good rustle. Even when I'm giving them a rabbit, I'll still take a bag & give it a shake. That's how I got the first 3 back, I walked around my garden, & the neighbours garden shaking the bag, and one by one they came to me. The 4th I found in my shed! All the neighbours know I've got ferrets, so I'd like to think that I'd get a knock if he's sighted. Quote Link to post

Malt 379
:toast: :shout: :shout: :clapper: YES!! All present & accounted for! I was outside feeding the stinkers, and one of the lads I know from the nest estate, came round the garden and muttered the words I've wanted to hear all day: "Alright Mal, have you lost a ferret?" I could of hugged the lad! His hands were pissing with blood, bless him, the ferret had been in a bit of a state probably scared out of his wits, as he is usually very placid. Any way, I told the lad that I owed him one, and he said all I had to do was take him out on a ferreting trip. Quote Link to post
