Gav 1,708
Don't panic, its normal in young birds which are mass bred, their beaks will grow and will smooth off and look pretty normal by the next couple of months. Chickens beaks are like nails and constantly grow and wear down with use A normal diet of mixed grain, layers and grit will do just fine.

Netter 0
Could the previous owner have debeaked them? Have a look at THIS
Gav 1,708
Could the previous owner have debeaked them? Have a look at THIS It is more than likely when they have big broods, it saves them pecking each other, but like I say they do sort themselves out pretty quickly. All our chickens that we ever bought from big breeders were the same.
The one 8,545
Thats what i was thinking they would have been debeaked to stop feather picking
Ginette 0
we once had a rhodie hen who'd been de-beaked poorly. When we got her ahe could barely feed. We were able to trim her beak back a bit with a pair of (strong) nail clippers. Just be wary that chickens beaks like dogs nails have a quick that shouldn't be cut past, or it will bleed!
