Recommended Posts

Are they poisons snakes?

Good shots

:icon_eek: fecking hope not :icon_eek:

Nah ! only kidding, Grass snakes are not poisonous there defence is they shit the most vile smelling liquid over you, and if you got a weak stomach it'll make you puke...

First of all they hiss and pretend to strike you but they don't bite, then they feign death when you cop hold of them, go all limp and the mouth opens like you twatted it with a shovel, see pic above, once they know they're not getting eaten they seem to calm down and pose for the pics..

listen to me, like I'm an expert, :icon_redface: first time i seen them is this year..

great pic's mate, reptiles and amphibians have long been an interest of mine, especially like the pics in the pond, bet there's not many frogs about now though!

ain't seen frogs, frogspawn or taddys for a few years now, this year is the first time we seen the snakes, now we know where the frogs have gone.. me I prefer the snakes..

Guest foxyjo.

Jack, what bloody marvellous photos!!! :notworthy::notworthy:

Grass snakes...beautiful things. We have one who is a regular to my grandmothers greenhouse. They can get huge!! Her house is right on the edge of some cliffs so we get all sorts, lizards, adders, (occasionally), slow worms, all lovely to see. As kids we used to pick them all up, (not the adders!!!), and your right about the stench, once smelt never forgotten!!!!! :clapper:
