the river tyne

Recommended Posts

hello alimac, im in hexham and the tyne should be good on friday so long as we dont get too much more rain. my pal caught a seatrout yesterday and later on in the day a salmon was taken from the same pool, this is above the hexham bridge. im no fisherman so you might get a more detailed roport from the profesionals, hope this helps and good luck for friday. i dont think were going to get too much more rain.

cheers zippo.

just giving you the latest on the weather down here, so far its stayed dry, i think we must of had a shower through the night but nothing to talk about, i use xc weather on the net when i have need to check the weather, ive just looked at it and i reckon you could have a cracking day tomorrow, its not forecasting anymore rain. if i can get down tomorrow ill hopefully see you catch something. good luck.

yes mackem, there's no shortage of fish, it's been said that they are getting well up this year sooner than previous years due to the rain wev'e had, its worked out well but i suppose that depends on where you fish, round here ive heard one or two moaning about them going straight through, you cant please everyone.

firstly id like to say cheers to zippo for the time out he took to check things out for me..

Got down last night and caught up with a few old friends, i met >>>> at 5.45 this morning and off we went, we started fishing the pool below the weir but it was running to fast for the fly and you cant spin in that particular pool ( and no i couldnt use your swetcorn method before you say anything mackem) i persivered and fished it through twice just because, you know how it is..

we moved of to try the next pool down, i decided to spin a condom through this pool, as a geordie typing this next bit is hard, but, for the next 30 minutes i felt like a certain mackum thats on here... :tongue2:

about a third of the way down i had a good thump in mid stream, get on you bueaty i thought as it just sat there banging away not running just THUMP THUMP THUMP .. it was a sure sign of a decent fish, and sure enough it tipped the scales just short of the magic 20..the very next cast i hooked another fish, slightly smaller at 14 , a hen this time so back she went... >>>> turned up so i gave him a dozen cast as im that sort of guest :whistling: any way im please to say he never connected, i took the rod off him as he walked back out the pool, i gave it a good throw down stream and yep you guessed it, i was in again, this time a sea trout of 4.6

i was smiling all the way home
