Malt 379
Well, the 'men in white coats' will tomorrow be powering up what some other men in white coats are calling a 'Black hole machine!' http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/sci/tech/7468966.stm Some say it will unlock the secrets of the universe, others say it suck us all into a black hole! Just in case this time tomorrow, we've all disappeared, I'd like to say what a great pleasure it's been talking to most of you, and I wish I'd have spent less time sat at this PC arguing, laughing, looking at porn, & gone out & done a bit more! I won't hold my breath for it though, same time tomorrow?

SportingShooter 0
There are no particles being collided tomorrow. Just putting a beam through the entire machine. Professor Stephen Hawking said he has no doubt of its safety, as do 8000 physicists, So I'm feeling better They cannot produce anywhere near the energy produced in space to create Black Holes. If they could, I would be out there with my Dymanite outside the gates of every power station. Regards SS

speedlamper 0
if any of you make it watch the documentry megastructures-the atom smasher its about the building of the machine and how they excavated inside the mountain, the size of the cavern they made is unreal

They reckon that as powerful as the thing is, we get by cosmic rays many times more powerful than it all the time, that have the same effect, & we're still here. I was looking at some websites for more information, and I stumbled across a few with comments from a few startled Americans urging military action against Switzerland! Hell I laughed!
