tripe should only be a bulker is mostly water, beef trimmings and ox heart are ideal for growing pups its also vital they get plenty of calcium from meaty bones,ie chicken carcasses, wings, lamb breast, necks your butcher will give you most of it for free regards john

I started my Bedlington/whippet pup on raw at 9 weeks, however although he had a good go at the bones, i found the easiest way to get bone into him was to blend the wings/carcasses. When they are really little sometimes teeth just arn't strong enough. Having said that beef bones are great for them to cut their teeth on. The guy i get my raw food from does lots of different minces, his chicken mince has bone in too, so best of both worlds. Turkey necks are also good. And tripe is fantastic for dogs, as long as it's green tripe.

I also when my pup was really young gave him a dry kibble, (James wellbeloved) mixed in with raw mince for his breakfast, as i felt this would make sure he wasn't missing out on anything.

Good luck with the pup.

Whilst tripe may contain vits and mins, it is very low in protein, so you need to make sure the pup gets enough red meat, as you are doing. Calcium is VERY important: whole milk natural live yoghurt, chicken carcases and wings: with very little pups I either mince the chicken carcases or smash them into tiny bits with an axe!
