TheHuntingAgency 0
Hi all, I recently treated myself to a new 30-06 rifle which came with scope rails already fitted. The retailer didn't have much of a selection so I bought myself a set of Nikko Sterling mounts and off I went. I'll save you from the details but suffice to say that on both times I took the new rifle to the range to zero it, I ended up with the scope falling off it! Not exactly ideal (Excuse me Mr Kudu, just hold still a moment while I screw my scope back together!) Anyway, there was a fair degree of operator error involved but you know what it's like - when something fails in your hands you loose confidence in it - and that's what happened here! So, I binned all this and bought myself a set of Leopold rails and monts (since I have a leopold 6x42 scope) and as a first-time user of these can report that they were a dream to fit and seem very robust and stable! Hope this helps - but if anyone could recommend a set of quick-release mounts, I'm after a set for my .375H&H! Cheers Quote Link to post
