On the Verge.

Recommended Posts

I am on the verge of considering reloading for my .222

I already load some of my own Shotgun Cartridges and have a basic knowledge on the basic aspects of Reloading.

I have the Lyman Loading Manual which is great for reference and the info is top class.

What I would like are some Links to good reloading websites and perhaps a recommendation or two. I'm not looking to spend a fortune on digital scales to 1 millionth of a grain. Just the tools to get the job done well on a small scale.

Many thanks in Advance.

Thanks Landrover.

I've had a look through them all. Seen a few before. I had pretty much decided on a press before I asked the question, The Lee Classic Single Stage.

What I'd like to know is which Brand of Die to use, as I hear Lee are not great Dies, and what other Equipment I need to go with the Press.

I already have a scales and Bullet and Powder choice I'll decided a bit later on.

I suppose I'll need a De-Capper? Anything else anyone can think of?

SS,Have a look here;

you would rearly need something to trim your cases to the corect length every so often, case lube/pad, and a good set of dies, i use the RCBS which are the mutts nuts. You would also need some calipers to measure the correct lengths of your finished bullets, a powder trickler is also a good thing to have :gunsmilie:

by the redding brand of dies the bullet seating die, full length resizing die, and the neck sizing die, a good set of digital vernier callipers,

a chronograph, is a must when reloading........

a few good reloading manuals..... deburring tool, primer pocket cleaner, case tumbler and media..... loading tray and funnel,

rcbs 10-10 manual scales are good, stay away from the lee ones..... anyone else jump in as i may off forgot things.......as yes case length trimmers,

flashhole deburring tool....... :whistling:

this should get you started.... not forgetting the press, the lee will do but stay away from their turret press..... :gunsmilie:

This is going to get expensive! :icon_eek:

But thanks Gents ;)

I will echo Snap shot re the redding dies - get the S type neck die, the one with the bushing in them that ensure each case mouth has the same tension - if you have the same amount of powder and the same bullet length in each cartridge but your neck tensions are different - they ain't going to shoot great groups - fact!!!

I used to think RCBS were the business till I got educated
