minion 29
hello all, my laptop broke and is away being repaired under warranty but comet are messing me about so I went down to PC world and bought a new one. I need to know how to get my email set up on this new one. Basically i have an email account with btinternet.com, they also provide my internet. I dont know where to start to get outlook onto the desk top and also how to get it so I can access my emails again. Any advice? cheers
Malt 379
You don't need Outlook to access your emails, you should be able to send & receive emails through your browser at your ISP's home website. I've got outlook configured on my PC but I hardly ever use it.

pearcepestcontrol 1
try loging onto bt home page and look for a link that says retrieve account, that will set up your outlook for you. If not do a search in google for bt settings ie pop3 and smtp outgoing and incoming mail server. Open your outlook go to tools , acounts and click new, follow the screens adding your provider: bt, enter pop3 server (eg) pop.btserver.com same for smtp. put in your user name password etc, as well as your email addy and away to go. To put a short cut on your desktop just open the programes list from start button find outlook right mouse click on it and send to desktop. hope this helps
