Time to Get the Gear Sorted

Well Guys and Gals......The rabbit season is about to get under way and I for one have been busy sorting and repairing nets, snares, cages etc. ready for another profitable season. The bookings for rabbit clearance are already piling up and as many are twice yearly contracts I am nearly fully booked already. It always seems funny to me that when I ferreted for nowt..........I could never get any permission.........but charge them a ridiculous fee.......and I turn work away.

Anyway........just to remind any newbies out there to make sure you hang your nets up to dry after each ferreting trip and don't leave them tangled in the bottom of the net bag........it makes life so much easier for the next outing. Also check locator and collars for battery life BEFORE putting ferret to ground (yes we have all done it) All my traps have been wire brushed and cleaned and are all ready to go, the snares have all been shaped and tensioned and the twines checked, also the longnets have been run out.......checked for holes....and put back on the anchor pins ready for the first drop...........so I for one am just about ready....ARE YOU? ;)

Good luck to you all for the coming season.........and may every outing see you struggle to carry the bunnies home.

Regards

Rolfe ;)

Hi Rolfe, just a quick question. If your a pest control, how come you dont do the rabbiting all year round? The permission i work want you there all the time, or they look for someone else?

Smart shed by the way....And do you sell your rabbits on? And the permission you turn down, can i have, lol....

If asked to do it.........I will work at the rabbits all year round BUT....most of my clients wait till the season starts because they don't want to have to pay me for 3 days vegetation clearance before I can ferret the buries. if its cage trapping or snaring though.......then thats a different matter as i carry that out all through the year. ;)
