fathom 2
thinking back on last season, all the game round my area is extemely lamp shy was entering my dog to fox but was finding it very difficult getting one, not due to a shortage of them but just could'nt get them in close enough. there's alot of lads lamping round my area and from the word go everything is lamp shy it's pretty hard going even when it comes to rabbits, first flick of the lamp everything makes a dive for cover. any how was out one night last year got into what i thought was a good position wind in my face and started sqeaking with the lamp off give it five min's lamp on two sets of eyes across the field heart was racing kept the lamp on and sqeaked a little more fox turned on its heals no chance, this went on for a while tried sqeaking and apon turning the lamp on if i spotted anything i'd turn the lamp off sqeak a little more turn the lamp back on and nine times out of ten fox would be gone it was very frustrating to say the least. it was one night when i once again failed to get old charlie close enough for a course i thought what if i used a night vision monoctular to scope the field while sqeaking for foxy let him come in close enough flick the lamp on and let the dog do the rest. What do ya's think has anyone else tried this method? if it worked it could also be used for lamp shy rabbit's. would also save battery power. might sound a little over the top but if it ment successful catches and more education for the dog then why not. so lads and lasses what do ya's think? all opinions positive and negative please. Thanks all Yours in sport Fathom. Quote Link to post
