The one 8,485
Use a thicker twine till you get the hang of it mate Quote Link to post
mole catcher 1
Use a thicker twine till you get the hang of it mate no matter what size of twine your using if your not locking the knots they will continue to slip. Are you knitting direct on to the ring or using a large split ring to start with? and what type of knots are you using? if you would rather do this on the pm or over the phone then pm me your phone number :11: and i will see if i can help EDITED TO ADD: go on everyone, call me an idiot, ive just seen hes in Oz so a phone calls not the answer :stupid: :wankerzo4: Edited September 5, 2008 by mole catcher Quote Link to post

mole catcher 1
go on everyone, call me an idiot, ive just seen hes in Oz so a phone calls not the answer :stupid: :wankerzo4: .... .... .... SINDASOX VICTOR. be carefull that you make sure your locking off the knots. try and follow what i have typed below. this is the same as on the site only explained differantly. 1, tie your end of the string to the ring 2, bring the twine down over the front of the mesh gage 3,bring your needle UP through the ring and pull the gage tight to the ring 4,bring the twine down again LOOSLY OVER THE GAGE 5, pass the needle back UP through the ring NOW THIS BIT IS IMPORTANT AS THIS LOCKS YOUR KNOT IN PLACE 6, pass your needle through the loose loop letting it slide OFF the gage and pull it tight to the ring. that is your first mesh formed, repeat this for how ever many meshes you wish to start your net at. It is parts 5 & 6 that are most important as they need to be in place to lock your knot otherwise they will simply fall apart. Try out what i have said and let me know how you get on with it GOOD LUCK Quote Link to post

Try out what i have said and let me know how you get on with it GOOD LUCK the twine comes over the mesh board then up behind it and then you cross it over the bit you allready put over the mesh board (HOLD THE CROSS OVER TIGHT) take the needle round the ring then under and through itmaking sure you go through the 2loop" you made when going round and under , pull the needle towards you keeping ahold of the crossover making sure your pulling everything tight all the time you are notting! do the loop and under bit for each time round the mesh board....i hope yopu know the next row is a different kettle of fish lol ...anyway heres a pic of the first mesh onto the ring...hope this helps Quote Link to post

will.f11 24
that looks like a strange way of making a net, do you do that the whole way along and knit both rows at the same time? Quote Link to post
