Guest ooty
What are you after ooty? I was told most estuarys tend to be quite hot, Only one way to find out though I remember seeing hugh fernley whipping stool doing abit of netting In the sea on one of his shows though so that must be allright...remember hughs landrover he used to ride round cooking out of,?i weighed that in, :whistling:didnt like him. it got left in my mates yard. my uncle was the gamekeeper on one of his early programs when he cooked a game pie out of his landy :icon_redface:recons he was a proper prick aswell Edited September 6, 2008 by ooty Quote Link to post

Guest ooty
multi mono and in the sea going water if you stake it out not drift it , is fine but al the migratory fish has to go back ahah , i saw the tale end of the big halls of salmo drifting 1 mile plus of montrose bay loon bay the tweed the whistler big hauls 400 plus for a week , me personaly ill net a river if money was tite but i think once they get past the first call not to fussed the sea is were i like it and long dry summers ,done not bad this summer 4 and threes 10 pounders the river was to high at times , and legal size for bass net is 90 mm i use 1oo mm 4 inch catches most things , cheers we used to have franchi five shots for seal scares and shark blasters funny what you catch with a mile or more of drift net cheers grand memories for a 12 to 14 year old kid growing up on the seasounds good, can you eat seal?think there a bit fatty, see them laying on the beach when the sun comes up round here, never catch f**k all when there bobing round in front of where your fishing, hate the f*****g things, there are no salmon or trout run up east anglia, mainly bass mullet and eels right near the coast, ,iv seen the same net as iv got ancoered of on big hooks across one of the few bays we have on our shallow coast driven into the sand.its definately somthig id like to learn how to do proply,iv been watching how the feller does it,he pins his net a few times across the bay leaving a bit of room for fish to come round behind on high tide and into his nets on the way back, what i wonder is how pissed off does he have the right to be if i stick my net in one of the bays where he fishes?iknow the old eel men on the broards used to aledgedly have a licance to net but the broards are tidal and the eels are disapearing, most eel netting is done nearer the coast these days Edited September 6, 2008 by ooty Quote Link to post

maty j 6
It was a metaphorical storm Maty, the worst kind I guessed but that was true. Last 2 times I've been carping I caught when the rains came, must be something In It. The car did get abit close to the lake and I was just wheel spinning In the amout of rain we had the ground just tunred to mud. Still all good fun I will weather that metaphorical storm and have a crack next summer probably. Last time I ended up going over In a water filled dyke and you could see fairly well with the moon shining off the lake If your up this way ooty, drop me a PM and I'll see what I can do. The way I spend cash I think I could be a scot but manars don't cost anything. There's good and bad In all Quote Link to post
