LDR 29
How's it coming on for you guys now, what numbers you got in??????? seems to be fairly poor mate taught there would be a good few in by now, kinda disapointing Same thing this side mate, its taken about 28 people to get 16 all paid up and ready to go, if you can get an 8 dog stake going this year, you'll prob manage more next time round, i think alot of people get put off because its never actually happened before, i reckon next year the english one will piss 32 dogs and then who knows in years to come!!!! If you can get it going with just 8 this year, i'd say its worth t and try again next year, once people see the interest the comps produce and that they can work, but also that they're a bit of fun too, everyone will want a slice of it............. LDR 29
Well the scots are meant to be doing one now, all we need is the Welsh to do one and we can have a 4 nations cup!!!!!!!!!! Top 2 from each region and there'd be another 8 dog stake.......... Edited September 7, 2008 by longdogrunner Quote Link to post
Bryan 1,362
i don't know about stuff like this. the badger trials in Ireland, that people love to talk about only brought attention where it should never have been. Lurchers and lamping are best kept low profile and QT. No need for comp's or any shite like that. heads down and mouths shut is the best way to hunt and keep hunting.Have fun amongst friends if you want a bit of craic but i can't see the benefit of a lamping competition? Terrier man 38
i stll think a rabbitting competition on land with full permisiion would be safe enough. has anyone stopped to consider the fact this comp could be a gateway for an anti or undercover animals rights official to infiltrate the hunting comunity. like there have been incidents at the shows here over the last three years with antis coming in with photographs. first lamoing comp with a rescue dog then next out fox foxes the otu for a dog and some evening you make yourself a cup of tea sit down trun on the television to bbc one and theres you the boys and your new mate on Panorama in the undercover expose of the cruelty of lamping. paints a unpleasant picture and as the programme starts you get a knock to the door theres cops and uspca with search warrents and papers to seize your dogs gear car trailer computer mobile camera taxidermy and you are hearing the you have the right to remain silent however........................!!!! Adam i think you look too fare into things... Quote Link to post

Adam i think you look too fare into things... six years ago i would have made the same reply as you just have. i hope you do not have the same experience as i had and in fove years have the luxury of being so sure of yourself. times are changing the good old days of not having to worry are gone for me forever, i hope you dont ever understand what i mean. I do adam but if we all lived in fear we wouldnt live at all... Quote Link to post
