Molie1337 35
what work does a pitbull get used for ?! killing bears?! Quote Link to post
neil cooney 10,416
I've used pit bulls for hunting on top and they can be handy. I'm not talking about at the end but bushing, ratting and haybales and general non serious fun. They can have nose, brains and drive. They also suffer from the cold and as we all know bad with other dogs. Although I have had pit bulls that were only bad with other pit bulls. But IMO the APBT is way to highly strung as a cross for a working terrier. I couldn't see what it could add that a well thought out cross with another terrier or at least a good staff wouldn't add. JMHO. I no longer keep bull breeds. Quote Link to post
scent 509
i think a good patterdale is normally hard enough without adding bull into the equation Quote Link to post
top terrierman 90
they can be big in the chest you need big earths with big tubes for this cross.dont think there great finders had a bitch myself that was 1/4 bull not great at finding not saying there all like that Quote Link to post
bubbaG 0
why would you want to ruin a patt do you all not think there game enough?? Quote Link to post
Terrier man 38
why would you want to ruin a patt do you all not think there game enough?? Lads ar you off your heads its mostly pit back in all good pats... and anyone who says to me they have a full pat with no bull is only fooling themselfs as all have it back in them .... its put in for gamness and hard mouth simple as and mostly hard altogether.... weather it be a staff or a pit ... pit perferably but it makes a huge difference... dehoffmeister .... Any iv come accross ar all patt dogs put to bull bitchs....The first cross ar not always the best at finding that i have seen... but suppose its like everything else ... a dog will lack in somthing where another will excell... cant have it all good..... The 3/4patt 1/4 pit now your talking.... Quote Link to post

Pip N Choc 0
i think you should put the patterdale dog over the pitbull bitch but the bitch would have to be at the most 28lbs for keeping the size of the dog down. but i prefer straight petterdales as they get the job done. thats not to say that the cross wouldnt work but ifs it not broke dont fix it. this is just my opinion Quote Link to post
