Do you think this would help the recession

Do you think that the recession in the UK could be helped if our very brave troops both men and women were pulled out of all over seas conflicts, I have given this some thought and I would not like to estimate how much these bloody wars are costing us a nation, I think we should start putting our own house in order before we carry on over seas. What are your thoughts.

they should bring them home and give the money to suppport the familys that have lost loved ones, nothings going to help this recesion apart from lending laws, thats where most of its going, lending money to people who dont have a hope in ehll of paying it back

Mackem cheers mate. Speedlamper that's a great idea, one I would vote for given the chance. There is so much we could do if the powers to be took a sensical approach to what is going on, if anyone has any figures of costing in relation to us fighting over seas, would you post them please.

defense contracts alone are worth billions, i know the u.s spent 600billion dollars on it last year, funny how the same company that gets the contracts also own most of the news channels over there,

 

how do you put a price on a soldiers life?

i too think this country ought to get its own affairs sorted before sticking its nose in other county,s affairs & the olympic games ought to be given up as a bad job aswell the cost so far £9 billion & rising

Cheers Speedlamper, am I right in thinking that 600 billion dollars in about 350 billion pounds, if they are spending that just in one year, my mind boggles. Nobody can put a price on a brave soldiers life.

 

Cads, that another excellent point brought up there, I am sure initial costings were around 2 - 4 billion pounds and look at where it is at the momemt and we haven't finished yet. Think f how much good that money could do for the needy in the UK.

well please dont bring em back before i finsih my tour in afghan i leave soon and will be back next year and dam i need the moeny, we get paid bad enough as it is but the money i will save out there will clear my debts up and get me good and going. so please hang on for 7 months lol.
