dogman89 0
surely one dog can dispose of a fox quicker than two because one dog can get a good shake and kill the fox quickly, where as two dogs are just going to play tug-of-war with a live fox as neither of them can get a good shake at it. imo Quote Link to post
undisputed 1,664
I always started doubled up before moving on to single handed anybody who say's theyv'e never doubled up is not being truthful imo sorry to disappoint you mate but ive never doubled up,thats the truth Sorry mate its not that I doubt you.....well actually it is! unless you've never brought on a pup and just use adult dogs entered by someone else before you got it, how do you enter a young dog to old charlie then? bullmastiff 615
if it's struggling to finish it off then big boots and a knife could come in handy! if it ever came to that mate i would give up totally He's on about a dogs first time and if it could be of been entered single handed? (as stated some people didn't have a choice) I merely stated that if a dog struggled (through lack of experience or just a mouth full of arse) with it's first fox then a helping hand might be required (usually supplied in the form of a more experienced dog). Personally I'd rather of wet a knife than have a dog badly cut up or Mr Red get away. JMO Quote Link to post

SubaruDogs 0
my other thread raised some very intresting opinions on a fox dog so here goes doubled up dogs seems like they not fox dogs athall afterhall opinions please has i said i did run double pre ban and seen some good dogs imoa a dog that pulls and kills its fox, every lamping trip, is a fox dog weather its single or doubled but thats my opinion the ones that just run the fox round the field are to me jackers they dont want it for any reason, then it would be outed after its chances i know alot of you will sayu run single, but please be honest if you run double would you call your own a proven fox dog GOT TO BE SINGLE HANDED ALL THE WAY MATE LIKE YOU SAY IT CANT BE CLASSED AS DO IN UM UN LESS IT S DONE ON IT S OWN Quote Link to post

dogman89 0
what did the first lurcher do, how did it no to catch a fox? it didnt have an older dog to show it what to do? not every dog needs another dog to show it what to do. im sure the majority of lurchers would tackle a fox with out an older dog to assist it. you just need to let the dog mature and not enter it to early. imo Quote Link to post
