if you no some one local with terriers ask them if they will take you out and show keen build up trust if all else fails get yourself a terrier buy your self a collar and spade and start ratching thats how most of us started get around local farmers or if you went to school with any farmers ask them pull as many strings as you can once you get one bit of permission look after it buy the farmer a bottle at christmas and his wife a little present once they know you are ok they will put you onto there mates if they ever have a problem.stick in there mate itll come good in the end it takes time just watch your back though pal i dont envy anyone starting out in this game nowadays all the best and always remember your terriers

im with you on this one bud the best way to start off in the digging game is to find local terrier lads get to now them go out on digs with them then when there got dogs for sale or pups get your self a dog/bitch go back out with them they should let you use there spades and equipment and collar/box when your learning then when you have proved that you can dig down to your dog and your dog is making the grade go out and buy your own collar/box nets diggin equipment.all the best silenthunter.....p.s respect the farmer they will respect you its easy to loose your permission because of silly mistakes
