comanche 2,944
Ditch ,a dirty old hermit with" issues".? In 1985 ,devastated by the untimely death of my lovely lurcher I phoned Ditch in tears . Yes in tears. I needed another dog to bring -on, a puppy to give me a new interest and purpose. Ditch made the calls ( He was'nt the only person on this site who was involved ) and I ended up with what I reckon was destined to be my "Dog of a Lifetime". I could say many good things about the man and still not give true credit to his multi-facetted talents and unique insight.. But let's face it the Ditch Sh*tter we know does'nt need me to promote his qualities . The bugger probably would'nt thank me for it either! He lives how wants to live, deals with problem in his own way ,answers to no one and nothing but his own sense of honour and I liked him the first time I met him . He'll probably send me an E-mail calling me C**t now !.
Guest foxyjo.
Errr...this is the internet. It hardly makes any difference to the rest of us if the man lived in a tree, does it? The point is, he was entertaining, knowledgeable, and kind.
Guest SJM
Theres f**k all wrong with being a hermit, god knows I would love to be a proper one, Ive lived a fairly isolated life through personal choice for many years now, bascially because people are arseholes and I would rather spend time in my own company as at least then you dont have to deal with it. I would like to live an even more isolated one if I had the money and means, my dream would be to have a wee cottage out in the middle of nowhere and be surrounded by peace, quiet and animals. I have a very misanthropic attitude, finding people tedious and only taking anything to do with them when needs must, if thats the way Ditch is or wants to live his life, best of luck to him, I can totally relate to it, theres a lot of inner solitude in sticking 2 fingers up to the world and saying you lot are superflous (sp) to requirements I never found it easy to read his posts, I'll be honest, we cant all like the same writers styles, I found them hard to follow at times, but I did find him entertaining and it was obvious he was a good hearted person, whatever his quirks. What happened to the celebration of the good old British eccentric? He may have been dirty or a knob or whatever other insults people fling, but he looks after his animals, takes pleasure in his sport and tried to help other people wherever he could, which is a lot more than can be said for some people on these sites, hope hes happy wherever he is and whatever hes doing

Tuzo 251
I did meet Ditchy and a good fella he certainly is. I took his dog to him (Dingo)......he got the dog out of my car and it was obvious to anyone who could see......he had special relationship with animals. That said he was more than sociable with me and a gentleman. I wish him well and hope our paths cross again sometime.
Matt 160
DitchShitter comes from a place, and from a time,..where it was favourite to say exactly what you mean to say,.and to do,.. what you promise to do.... It's an old style value,..it is called integrity... His life,..and yours,.will go on.... All the best,..CHALKWARREN.... nice words my friend but utter bollox im afraid. the man is dirty old hermit who suddenly after years of staying in his house decided to become a pest controler......and the man has emotional as well as personal self esteem issues. i refer you to my previous post one word ....................................KNOB............................... Fine words from Chalky (as ever). I'm afraid it's not so good for fellman. Dirty? WTF do you know? Years of staying in his house? A hard working, decent fella who you obviously know feck all about... Well, all in all, I refer you to the majority opinion of this forum, and all who have been in contact with the fella, and suggest that you are the one with 'issues', and the best thing you can do is feck off. Ditch was a credit to this, and many other forums, and I for one will miss him on here.
Simoman 110
Conversations with Ditch were always interesting.............
