Guest Woody
Yep Holey, thats sounds Handle them as much as you can, and when they nip at your fingers, tap them on the nose, and they should soon learn that your hands arent food! Quote Link to post
Guest RobW71
Also offer up your fist, they can't get a hold of you and hopefully warm to your scent Regards Rob Quote Link to post
Guest RobW71
You're right there Millet, but no way is surefire safe, but I'd sooner a Ferret had a go at my knuckle, where he can't close it's jaw, rather than a finger or side of my hand. If most youngsters/starters are honest, they probs don't handle them enough because they're Ferret shy, it's only another methord for you both to get used to each other. Another methord you could try, if they do happen to bite your finger, gently push it down thier throat and make them gag, same goes for a knuckle. Regards Rob Quote Link to post
Mitch 0
My first Hob used to bite the shit out of me. When i would go to pick him up he would bite me. So i got a bar of sunlight soap, some pure natural soap. And when he would try to bite me i would let him bite the soap. He didnt like it and soon got the idea, It didnt happen over night, but he eventually understood if he bites he is going to get a mouth full of soap. He is now my best ferret. And will not even think about biting me, Quote Link to post
