Cheers BB I JUST DONE A BARN CONVERSION AND USED SOME OFF CUTS OF THE OAK FLOOR BOARDS CUT THEM TO SHAPE LITTLE RUB WITH SAND PAPER AND DRILL A HOLE CHEAP AS CHIPS AND STRONG Quote Link to post
Guest Name Posted August 31, 2008 Report Share Posted August 31, 2008 You will hear a lot of people saying "only use bla bla" but if you think about it all you need is something strong and shaped so its easy enough to sink, i have used all kinds of things from 2x1 to none rotten tree branches found at the earth, using shit does mean you have to change them or renew them more often but as long as they stick firmly to the ground and dont give easy they will do you for that job at least Quote Link to post

OldNog 432 Posted September 1, 2008 Report Share Posted September 1, 2008 find an ash about 4 inches wide and cut it into logs however long you want you peg and then just chop it with a bill hook. Splits easy and is a good sturdy wood and should last a few seasons Quote Link to post
