Guest holey
i feed my ferrets any thing from dog food which they love to whole rabbits, cat/dog buiscuts are ok but not all the time as thier coat goes dull showin signs as they arnt gettin all they need, in summer i give mine these to stop flies! look out for fresh road kills! funny thing is my hob wont touch rabbit of anything fresh like pigeon andso on he will only bolt them out so thats y i feed them cat biscuits and my jill will eat rabbit and biscuits but wont eat dog food ive got a weird pair here Quote Link to post
gnipper 6,484
If you must feed biscuits you could at least give em ferret biscuits , the coat doesn't fade on them like has been said ,you can tell they aren't getting all they need from cat food. If you think its too dear the wellberipped off stuff get the cheaper ttypes, I got a bag for summer or when i haven't got any rabbit etc from companions choice online delivered next day for £30. Couldn't be easier could it. Quote Link to post

ferreterno1 0
ferret biscuits are just expensive cat biscuits. i pay £13 a sack for complete cat biscuits, that with plenty of fresh meat as well gives them everything they need. Quote Link to post

Guest Woody
I feed mine whatever I can get my hands on! At the moment, we're ferreting a bit, so we have plenty of rabbits, and other than that I've got quite a number of pigeons in the freezer that I shot in the summer. Keep a look out for fresh roadkill too. Also, when we had a problem with mice in the kitchen, I trapped 13 in a week- they all went to the ferrets! I try and feed whole carcass as much as possible, but when its not available, tinned cat food and biscuit is good. Try asking a local butcher for anything he has spare...giblets are pretty good for ferrets. Quote Link to post

Guest Woody
YOU SAY WHOLE CARCASES DOSE THAT MEAN GUTS N ALL ?????? I take the guts out, of most things...Its not worth the bother for a mouse or songbird, but the bigger stuff, gut em! Also, its worth emptying the crops of any bigger birds, as they can be full of poisonous berries or something! Quote Link to post
