salclalin 240
Cheers lads, just realised this should have been in another forum.I should have mentioned it is a dislocation and not a break. It is the first joint Quote Link to post
Guest merle
depending on where the break is if the break is on the joint it will heel but as we are told it will callas causing the joint not to work and normally double the size which i agree could cause some problems but if it it on the straight bone it will heel ok even if it callases up im sorry but i dont know what causes it to callas to the size they do but if you read the link from trev it does say why merle take it to the vet or a ostiopath they will sort it merle Quote Link to post
Guest trev
The calous is the build up of blood in the toe, when left in time it becomes hard leaving a lump on the toe which in turn hardens around the liagaments and prevents the toe from working properly. To stop all this the simple solution is cut the nail off right back to the toe to allow the blood build up be released, this saves the toe calousing, which in turn saves the ligaments, time then is what will heal the rest. Guest trev
Yes max bone radiol(blister) will help speed up the the healing proces, its an ugly effect but it certainly works, the general idea is to brush it on, it burns the hair and skin and stops the dog using the affected area, if he isnt using the affected area the healing process will be alot quicker.
