Hello Mick

Been down and fed round this morning and they have settled in nicely, when people contact me for Pere's this year I'll fire them over to you, I'm hanging onto nearly all of them this year apart from a few Tiercels, I had alot of Interest in them last year due to the size they was coming out, I sold the Females for £850 and the tiercels for £400, the females averaged around 2lb 8 and over and the tiercels was all around the 1.12 - 13 mark at 11 weeks, they're a old pair and probably won't have many years left in them which is the reason we'll be hanging onto them this year, This is a quick pic of a female I kept back and a Tiercel I also kept back, WAF on this site also had one a few years back.

when I told Andy about the Harris's he was originally going to take them back to his but he decided to run them down hear to Norfolk probably just for this year but you never know ;).

Cheers

Tony

Hi jasper

Nice birds What sub species are they ? i have flown a number of peregurines over the years my personal prefrance for hunting are the welsh peris (female 1lb 13 oz) but for producing hybrids scottish peri are better due to size as you will know.

Im currently flying last year female imprint peri + female peri lanner imprint pleasure to fly .

The Harris,s you now have have produced good hunters one guy who flys it daily has taken 80 head this season which is good (Ithink?)

I will take some pics to show you what they produce.

Hi 'falconeru.k01'

No idea mate! the tiercel was a bird I brought in from Mark Robb in 93 and the female came in from One of Bob Haddons mates which a decent crow hawk and a decent size but sustained some claw damage and consiquently ended up in my breeding aviary, I know what you're saying about the size of birds for flying! "Big males and little females" suits me every time when it comes to flying birds, I breed some nice size Finnish females but I would'nt dream of taking up a female for flying, but as you probably know in this country big birds sell, Big Willy syndrome always seem to raise its head with alot of falconers ;), which is why I'm keeping a few back this year due to the Interest they generated over hear and across the water.

Cheers

It sounds like you will need to increase your pairs mate, thats good getting intrest from abroard.Keep up the good work!!

Hello Mick

It would be good to bring a Gos up to your's, You're not too far up Lincolnshire for me from where I am! I'll be taking up a new Gos hopefully this year if Bird Flu does'nt piss it up for me, My last Finn male was wiped out by the Patterdales in its weathering :icon_eek:, I suppose I can't blame the dogs too much as it was pointed out to me from some lads on this list, that Basically this is what these dogs do and they was only doing what comes second nature to them, either was as you can imagine I was slightly pissed off at the time, this is not a nice pic but this was him before in the field and the end result.

Cheers

Hi tony

its less than 2 hrs drive mate its the roads til you get to Lincoln that put time on journey, i agree about dogs they bred for it, but not the point when it happens to you!!

My pointer is sound around my birds but the possibility when hawk takes the kill ,dog spotted first it may go in & attack hawk one day. things go wrong no matter what mate sometimes.
