jp001 0
my sauki greyhound caught 1 of my girlfriends neighbours cats in my girlfriends garden, the neighbour had asked me 4 a good will gesture towards the vet bill at the pdsa, which i donated £40. which i thought would be the end of the matter. 14 days after the incident my girlfriend recieved a letter from her landlord stating she had 14 days 2 rehome her greyhound dog because it had caught and shook a cat in its mouth, my girlfriend rang her landlord and explained she was looking after my dog as i was away, their response was that my dog is not allowed at the property what so ever or she will be in breach of her tenancy as they fear for the safety of other animals coming into her garden... specifying that the neighbour has more than 1 cat. this request i feel is unfair as i live 30miles from my girlfriend, i'm disabled and now cannot stay at my girlfriends because it wouldn't be fair to leave my dog at home especially as she normally goes everywhere with me....she has been my companion. can anybody advise me what i can do about this situation, or a way round it? C.A.B. have wrote to the housing association on her behalf and now we are waiting for a response. thanks jp Edited September 2, 2008 by jp001

I also know this guy's girlfriend owns her own dog which lives at this address with the landlords permission as there are no rules against having dogs at the premises
smudge1901 1
If there are no rules against having pets in the tenancy agreement then there would be nothing to stop your girlfriend from having the dog full time. She has one dog already. Perhaps a phone call to citizens adivice would help ? Seems that the landlord is making it up as he goes along...

sue 1
your best bet is not to take your dog round to your girlfriend for a while ,let things settle .it wont kill you not to stop at your girlfriends , she should have checked with her landlord first Edited August 31, 2008 by sue

jp001 0
have you tryed speaking to the land lord and told him your sitiation and why you take your dog with you you could state that you will muzle the dog if it is on the yard or you could set sprinklers up so that the when you see the cats on the yard turn the hose on they will stop soon enuf i have tried talking to the land lord, the lady is not interested, all she says is that my dog is not allowed at the property even if the neighbour makes a retraction which she said she would do but has not done as yet!!! her landlord is a housing association, it feels like they want to be god, judge and jury! jp001 0
if the cat was caught in your girlfriends garden tough luck it shouldnt be there, the landlords arguement is that the neighbour has other pets... 7 other cats + rabbits, guinea pigs, ferrets, fish, parrots, she is a council tenant that is miss busy body who rules the street, so she thinks!!!!
