Countryside Management National Diploma

Recommended Posts

I did the Rural Resource Management diploma because i wanted to live and work in a counryside/conservation field. I thoroughly enjoyed studying the subject but i could not get work in this field at all. I do live in a rural area, but had to carve out a career elsewhere and now work in regenerating deprived areas. However the course itself was excellent and i went on to do a degree in the subject. Without a doubt it has helped me in my career but its more to do with having the letters BSc after my name than the subject i studied. Hope this helps. However some of my friends did get what they wanted and are working in the conservation area, maybe i was unlucky (or lucky perhaps i earn more and i do not dislike what i do)

Cheers

Aled

I work as an electrician and have for over twenty years, never really enjoyed it much, although the money is good.

It has now got to the stage where even the money does'nt compensate my dislike for the job, so i think i'll give this course a go, at worst i'll gain knowledge in things that interest me.

Not much mate

It makes me laugh when people think I go to work, never get dirty standing in from of a consumer unit with a screwdriver in my hand.

In fact that takes up about 5% of my time. Been in an a loft space today where they insulated it with three layers going cross ways over the beams and the builder complained that i shoved it out the way.

I had to put in spot lights and extractor fans in the bathrooms below, what the f**k else was i supposed to do? :censored:

That's the best attitude with any course.

It's the reason I've done every course I've completed and I don't regret it for a moment.

its a good course to take if your interested in the countryside and the tourist side of park rangering. I recommend you do the HNc in this subject and pick up as many wildlife modules as you can before developing the HNd this will boast your chances of getting into wildlife trusts etc

is this a distance learning course or at college each day???

Who are you doing the course through??? OU??? I only ask as i would not mind it myself

Cheers

It's at a local college, three days a week, 43 weeks of the year.

You can get a diploma after one year or carry on for two to get to NVQ 3 level.
