i dont no about the greyhound thing. but my favourite line of hare coursing dogs has to be FOXY'S, theres a couple lads on here with pups and foxy is there grand dam and the other grand dam is dancer. now that is pure class in my eyes. if i were to get a pup (specifically for coursing which im sure i will ) i would like a pup to be something along this breeding.

and ive never seen a pure greyhound ever get to the forley cup final either nor have i ever seen a pure greyhound kill a winter hare on open land weather theyve been single handed or doubled up and believe me ive seen more than my fair share

what makes you think that our coursing dogs in england cant kill your hares over there and you say that forley winners like tina for example wouldnt get near em when the hares over there are weaker and smaller than the english hare i dont know where you boys get that misconception from that dogs in england cant kill hares quick because i can assure you we do kill em quick in average sized fields what you dont understand and i doubt youve course hares on big land in winter when you watch clips of dogs running hares for 4 mins on big land those hares are flying and at theyre strongest and the best of dogs take that amount of time to break his hare and get it under control before he even starts to think about killing it . theres a dvd in circulation of lucky killing a hare on a golf course in winter time no mean feat i think you will agree . a couple of years ago a friend of mine outside cork came over to course with me for the weekend he comes over quite regular i took him down south he was always telling me about the irish hare when he seen our dogs coursing english hares in fields he was blown away when i asked him his opinion on the english hare he told me the irish hare does not compare when i took him to the fen he was speechless i had a mediocre bitch here she could possibly do one out of three sometimes two out of four on a good day but nothing special . i gave it to him to take back it was doing fours and fives around a place called i believe carlow within a month of him having her my phone did not stop ringing with boys from ireland ringing me up enquiring have you got any dogs for sale like the one frankie had of you hes comlng over in a fortnight with a well known coursing man from ireland for a weekend your more than welcome to come with em and compare em for yourself

wont get many better lines than them if i was after a coursing dog them would be the lines id be looking for proven to be the best

so you are trying to compare a hare that sprints across a four acre paddock to a fen hare and you call that cousung i train pups in paddocks like that on rabbits at the end of day rhats a bit of a sprint its not coursing and you say your dogs are stamina packed how do you know

my bitch ive got at the moment would catch youre irish hares and find them. she is great smaller fields never tried her on the fens but i would like to.

I saw the vidio of captain and i have to agree, he is a fine animal. i would have liked to have seen him run in his day!!
