mart 131
hello new to this forum and also new to the working of terriers. just dug down to my 17month old prt and dispatched a boar badger, an old timer with broken teeth weighing in at between 15 to 20kg. quite an easy dig i guess, eventually finding the badger at a couple of feet below us. now i`m wondering if this dog will be able to bolt foxes or is he more likely to stay with the quarry waiting for me to dig down to him? where i hunt, badgers have taken over all dens where it is possible to dig, while the foxes have moved further up in the mountains where digging is impossible. Guest busterdog
Well done mate, lucky t##t dont get to do that here without looking over your shoulder.Dont worry about your dog sticking to ground its the whole idea,if he gives the fox enough of a incentive he will leave the biggest of places . The secret to bolting foxes is to remember to be as quiet as you can and no stomping about with box and coller, give him a chance to go first. KEEP THE FAITH AND GOOD LUCK hello new to this forum and also new to the working of terriers. just dug down to my 17month old prt and dispatched a boar badger, an old timer with broken teeth weighing in at between 15 to 20kg. quite an easy dig i guess, eventually finding the badger at a couple of feet below us. now i`m wondering if this dog will be able to bolt foxes or is he more likely to stay with the quarry waiting for me to dig down to him? where i hunt, badgers have taken over all dens where it is possible to dig, while the foxes have moved further up in the mountains where digging is impossible.
