Dan Edwards 1,134
UphillDoc will be on here in a bit I assume and if he will send me some photos of lions, I will put them up for him. You would think somebody that helps operate on folks all day would be sharp enough to put a pic on an internet message board but he aint. HAHA! Anyhow, he has a ton of big game photos with his lurcher gyp in them. He also has a another lurcher type dog that will be doin it all real soon. He has already started him on hare and will be movin him onto coyotes, coon, lion, and bear later this year. He got him from a fella near more sort of. He is half staghound and half running walker. Kye 77
That bitch is very handy, never seen her in the flesh, but she is related to my Staghound bitch, "Tor"...'Grace' sire was a dog named 'Saker' who was a belly brother to my bitch....i know that 'Grace' is staghound x bull, and she has done a great job for her owner and is a fantastic dog to be around buy all accounts... IMO, what she needs is my 'Blister' dog hanging out the back of her two or three times, so i can get a male pup outta the breeding, then put him over my 'Tor' bitch, thus line breeding some bad-ass, kill-anything-there-pointed-at type of dogs that would suit me just fine!... Scott, shoot me a PM soon bud, i would still love to have a roll around with a bear and my spear!..lol...what a craic!.. Jay.. Quote Link to post
Dan Edwards 1,134
Grace is something else thats for sure. One of the best things about her is this. You will not know she is around when you are sittin out back of Scotts drinkin a cold one or sittin in bear camp drinkin a cold one. She is calm as could be and never makes a sound nor moves a muscle until its go time. She just lounges around like she is half dead until Scott tells her to do something and then she does it right now and never questions a bit. Quote Link to post

Dan Edwards 1,134
The collars are tracking collars and shocking collars. Quote Link to post
Guest hyperion
One more thing needs to be added. These guys let almost every bear they tree or bay up go if they can. Its just when all your dogs are bayed up tight in a cave, there aint a whole lot you can do but hurry your ass up and get in there and kill the bear before all of your dogs are dead and possibly even you. It takes a special person to crawl into a dark cave with a big black bear. Give it a whirl once ooty, see if you got the sand. PARP! Quote Link to post
Dan Edwards 1,134
You are gonna have to dumb it down a little more for me. I have no idea what parp means. Remember I am just a dumbass american across the pond. Quote Link to post

stormrider8 59
awesome mate. How come the bears dont stand there ground to a few dogs? Quote Link to post
UphillDoc 278
Dan-Thanks for the pic, I will send you more. Would have been here sooner, but I actually had to work today... Kye-You and your spear are welcome anytime. Blister is high on my list, and if he was here it would probably be a done deal. I will try to answer all questions, so if I miss yours just ask it again... The collars are tracking collars. The bears do stand their ground, sometimes killing dogs sometimes not. When they stay on the ground to fight we call it a "bay up" and can walk in and see whats going on. Sometimes it gets plenty exciting. I will try to get some pics to Dan to post of more bears and lions and maybe even some of what happens if the dogs get caught. (though nothing to bad) Take care. Quote Link to post
