ferreting spade

looking for some help finding a new spade. looking for something light weight but also strong enough to dig through rocky ground and ground around tree roots. i am on a tight budget but will stretch myself if really needed.

any ideas

The best shovels for digging ferrets and charlie are called a general service shovel fibre glass shaft 8 inch wide round nose carbon steel ask the gas or water service boys digging the roads they'll lose one for a tenner :victory:

Have a look at that mate. I can highly recomend it.

 

I have both the spade in the link and a bulldog rabbiting spade. The heads on them are more or less indentical in shape, the one in the link has a 'D' handle whereas the bulldog has a 'T' personally I much prefer the 'D' alot more comfortable I find. It also has a stainless steel head which doesnt get as clogged up with soil as the bulldog.

 

Like I said I have both and they are both good but IMO your getting a spade that is as good if not better for less cash with the one in the link.

i work for the gas mate get hold of all these type shovels at any time,anyone after some digging gear in might be able to help out.
