Hi, I am looking for a new home for my Patterdale terrier. He is a three year old male called Harris. Both his parents were working terriers. His mother is a short haired patterdale from the Nuttall Line, and his father was a long haired (Fell Terrier?) I would like him to go to someone who would work him. He is fully vacinated including kennel cough. (Can provide vacination records) He is also chipped and recently wormed and defleaed. Very loving dog but his desire to kill small things includes my nine month old son. We are located in the East Midlands. Please email me geoff.hayley@talk21.com if you are interested.

Your rehoming a dog that wants to attack a nine month old baby, take some responsibility for your dog and don't pass it on where a kid could one day get maimed........

ive never seen a workin terrier id trust with my kids anyway, and the guy has been honest about it so if you have kids or cant control a terrier dont have it, but lets give the guy a break n either help him or leave him alone ,

Like i said its not usually the dogs fault, its the bloody kids but the dog gets the blame. The dog may be fine in a good house without screaming kids :thumbdown:

Its a nine month old baby, hardly ready for asbo just yet..............

there's one thing socialising the dog another thing where was a adult when this happened,

not making any excuses for the dog but they have off days like us,how many times do we snap at people

if it bit the kid then don't rehome put it down if not its down to you to put him right

just my opinion

Got to agree, if the dog goes to a working home with no kids, what happens if it meets a child while out walking or working, a small probabilty, but one that you would find very hard to justify to the childs parents, "sorry my dog just savaged your child, i knew he was like that but didn't think you would be around here at this time of day"

Not worth it, if the dog cant find a home in the outta hebridies, it should be pts. imho

IMO the guy is offering it up to a working home as he feels it clearly isn't suited to a pet home, i think thats responsible. There are lots of working terriers that i know which i wouldn't trust with kids, you encourage them to hunt and kill squeaking furry things, i don't think it's fair to put it down without knowing more of the story.

If a terrier is being worked regular to ground in my opinion it shouldnt be around young kids ,

as it would probably be sore a lot during the season and easily irritated by young kids ,any owner

leaving kids play about with a well grafted terrier needs shooting and not the dog in my opinion.

That would be common sense showman, I'm not talking about tired sore terriers, just the dogs temperament in general.
