I think people have very different needs from their bushing dogs, and to some, hounds like beagles are much too likely to feck off on a scent than a spaniel, and so completely useless for them. If you want a dog to flush game from cover, but stay within, say, 40/50 yards or so, then a spaniel is the one. Most good spaniels will work ANY cover. Quote Link to post

No, the terrier was never developed with Bushing in mind mate, they were bred for earthwork and the rough coat helps them cope with harsh weather in bleak hill country. Quote Link to post
bigdan 11 Posted September 1, 2008 Author Report Share Posted September 1, 2008 ive had springers and found them to big for tight cover i would love to have a cocker patterdale i had a springer x beddy before she was going well really well then all of a sudden stopped would never enter a bush again no matter what i tryed i know people say its there nature but some do it better than others as for the staffies i like to eat my what i catch Quote Link to post
