keeping a dog

hi all

hoping some one can help.my 2 boys are pestering me for a dog and as im into rabbit hunting i was thinking which one would be best for retrieving the rabbits however as i work on the oil rigs for 2 weeks at a time and my wife is full time at school the dog would be indoors on his own for most of the day is this unfair on the dog or would he get used to a good walk in the morning and the same at night when the boys come in from school of course i would be there for my 2 weeks home leave and the week ends my wife and 2 boys would be there its the week days thats the problem advice please any one as i am not getting a dog if its going to cause it any distress

If the dog has plenty of exercise and its just in there whilst you're at work or when people are out, that should be fine mate, i kept my springer in a kennel and run, 4x4 sleep box and 6x4 run, but have now changed it to having 2 sleep boxes 4x4 and a 10x10 run, for both my springer and lurcher and they live out all year round mate........ :thumbs:

What area are you in, you can often get them cheap in some of the local Ad papers or someone local will prob make you one, they're easy to make mate.......... :thumbs:
