Lived up around pembs a few years ago and saw plenty of sea trout jumping in fishgaurd old harbour(you have to climb down the rocks on the other side to the old harbour)at dusk, also a good few at the blue lagoon off the beach up the lagoon end.Moving back to wales soon(fingers crossed) and can't wait the north sea is so crap to fish i don't go very often biggest fish i've seen caught here was a 4lb pollock and caused a crowd on the pier, used to catch them that size on a spun sandeel with the kids in pembs.Nice fish by the way mate makes me want to move even quicker.

dont blame you for wanting to come back. not so many fish around like the old days, but still a few if you know where to look. Good run of fish up the rivers this year, big diffrence from last year and the year [bANNED TEXT]. Bass are scarce but mullet have been plentyfull, check out youtube, pemsangler is my name, mullet is the game lol as well as rabbits pigeon salmon sewin hehe. tight lines

That's a nice fish, I used to fish the Rheidol when I lived in Aberystwyth, it's a well underrated river, I used to be on it 4 or 5 nights a week in the season and go to work in a tackle shop during the day. I've not done it for 4 or 5 years now and miss it now I live where there's no sewin. You can't beat the feeling when they take in the dark! The top blokes all used a special type of fly on there too, before I got on it I had a bit of success with muddler minnows, the biggest I had was 6 1/2lb.

nice fish, but i think the small ones are better eating. muddlers have had me a few fish but now i fish only one fly. My own patten and it seems to out fish most of the other guys on the stretch i fish. So i keep it to myself as you can imagine lol

only had 13 fish this year so far there has been too much rain for the fly but i live in hope it clears a little so i can get back out and cast [bANNED TEXT] the end of the season

My best Sewin (sea trout) of the year so far, Fell to my own fly patten just before midnight, floating line.

Nearly pulled my arm off. Cracking fish. Not bad for the stretch of water i fish. Heres hoping a bigger one comes along before the end of the season. Fish weighed in at just over four and a half pounds. Back of the Netpost-22111-1219616941_thumb.jpg

Nice fish, the pic does make it look like a big Brown Trout though.

Here's my best of the season 5.5lb caught after midnight.

I think this is a sea run brown trout, in our river trout never get much bigger than 1lb ish, these fish come with the sewin

and are pink inside. Over the last few years i have had a couple of these and put it down to a sea trout stocking programme that took place on our river some 4-5 years back. Then again what is a seatrout, a trout that has returned to the sea to feed and returns to fresh water to spawn. I certainly classed it as a seatrout, the fishes tail gave it away, its shape and the light line clearly visable near the end of the tail fin.

best bait ive had for sea going fish is live sand eel and white gennie rags, the till is one of the best sea trout fishing rivers of the tweed big runs in may june ,never fly fished for years living next to the estuaries the sea you use diff tactics have fun

Nomally 8lb leader, 10lb if fishing amongst the trees, for obvious reasons lol .

Im sure diffrent rivers fish diffrent flies, palmered Dunkel, Alexander, Dark Mackrel all three will catch on our river. But seems the closer you get to the spawning grounds the less fussy the fish get. I fish the lower stretches near the estury and the basic fly like the Peter Ross catches well.
