Know a guy who despatches snared and cage trapped fox with a bog standard 12ft lbs Air Arms Fenman,claims...Note that word.....CLAIMS......to always get one shot kills from point blank range.

Shooting foxes with an air rifle is a stupid idea.

 

Point blank to one in a snare it would kill it, if it was in the right place, but its a shite idea.

 

Back on topic; BSA Superten's are great guns. When they were first brought out (about 9 years ago I think), I dismissed them as a poor mans Rapid.

Shortly after the MkII was released, a mate picked up a MkI second hand.

They are probably the ugliest air rifles ever produced, and a tad heavy, but they shoot like a dream. Absolutely superb rifles.

Just seen this, bill is bang on. Shooting foxes with an air rifle is NOT acceptable in any way shape or form, its not illegal, but it certainly is not right. You will not find any of the shooting bodies endorsing it whatsoever, in fact, you wont find them endorsing a 22rimfire for anything but close range foxing, or humane despatch. I dont know anyone who is certificated for shooting fox with a rimfire either.There will always be people who will try it, dont post it on here, you are banging in the coffin nails of legitimate airgun usage, and you will be the first to squeal like piggies when they undoubtably go "on ticket"

thanks woody .I did not plan to shoot foxes withit as i did not think they(or any airgun) was powerfull enough to shoot them i am no expert its just my opinion.

nikey,I`m sure you can get a walnut thumbhole stock for these, I`ve seen one advertised in one of the airgun magazines, I think it`s a bloke called Mike Tawn but it will set you back around £350-400.
