Guest Magwitch Posted August 23, 2008 Report Share Posted August 23, 2008 Well i thought I would give the rabbits a good sporting chance today so I left the nets at home and off i went travelling light, two small hobs in the box, bag of cartridges and "old Painless." I like to ferret these buries early in the year as they never hold a great deal of rabbits but if I don't get what's in there first someone else will. They are nice open buries sets on the side of a steep chalk hill on the north downs. The first six holer produced one rabbit which I let go because i missed , then the next bury of about ten holes produced the first two for the bag. The ferrets worked very well i must add straight to work no nonsence and the rabbits obligied by bolting instead of sitting tight. The last buries are two small sets beside each other and by now "Old Painless" was in full song and accounted for three more. All in all a nice hour out beautiful weather and nice surroundings.
