SKA 18
i am not into slagging peoples dogs off as long as your happy with your own dont worry about other peoples dogs alot of people on here seem obsessed with hancocks dogs .anyway i knew a man that two had hancock dogs 5/8 cross w hen they retired he got a 3/4 cross he said it could do everthing the 5/8 could do but was alot faster and much better for hares .sorry no pictures though.i Quote Link to post
lonedigga 23
I had a border collie/greyhound off hancock in 1989,by Rufus and to be honest i'd be happy to feed him now, despite having owned a couple of wheaten xs since and currently own a 1st x bull greyhound which wouldn't come near him if they were worked side by side. Having said that i don't think i'd have another 1 as i've seen a few that could only be described as a bit strange temperament wise, though that could be down to a lack of socialising as opposed to breeding. Mark.B 0
The very mention of the word Plummer or Hancock fetches a lot of dickheads out of the closet wanting to have them hung drawn and quarted for the least pssible thing. Fact is Hancock does breed a lot of dogs every year some good some bad but on the other hand the people whe buy them aren't always the sharpest tool in box in regards of fetching the best out of their puppies.During last 15 years I have had two half cross border greyhounds off him, neither of them were world beaters but just honest to goodness working dogs working to lamp and longnets ferreting.Fact is generally you get out of your pups what you put in Quote Link to post
miss lurcher bitch 319
you can have good and bad in any dog from pedagree to mungrals it takes time and evert in any animal to train so there you go Quote Link to post
gaz 284
Look, the lad is asking about 3/8 5/8 dogs and people's experience with them.I've just spent the last 30 mins cleaning this thread up and that's half an hour I'll never get back. This will not be allowed to become another Hancock slagging thread. If you want to slag the bloke or defend him, use one f*****g thread so we know which one to avoid. You do my head in you lot. The last week has been just constant nonsense and bickering about Hancock....again. It's f*****g boring. Stabs, cmon now !!!...its not hancock owners (present of former) that waste and turn these posts into playground squabbles, its the same old big knobs shooting their shit off as soon as the see a hancock thread.......if the boy is looking for advice, then why should folk that have expeirence of the dogs have to suffer when they try to pass advice because of the usual suspects foaming at the mouth until they get there fingers furiously tapping away to slate not just the dogs but the members on this site that keep or have kept them...opinions is one thing but going out your way to start bother on these threads and consciously trying to get them deleted or as you have said there cleaned up is imo because of you mods jumping in on the threads when they have run there course and have now turned into bitching slagging matches, ive never seen anything wrote on here from hancock owners that is even a exaggaration of the dogs abilities, its the same old same old from the the big knobs that start all the shit off.If a person is happy enough with their choice of dog...what kind of person does it take to jump on the thread and try to put them down and try and cause squabbles and bitching........??? Chaz 6
All 3 of the bitches here are 3/8 5/8 bred by Hancock , the collie marked bitch is now 11 and still going strong the light brindle is the bitch I run at the minute she has taken rat , rabbit, hare , rook, pigeon and duck, she is not interested in things that bite back , the only problem with her is she is an injury prone bitch and finished last season off early with a slight tear in her gracilis muscle and also her tricep , the dark brindle is my mates bitch and after just one season it would be hard to judge yet but but she is making a nice rabbiting bitch so far and will be further tested this season Quote Link to post
