neil cooney 10,416
here lads n lasses watch this clip No doubt about it the terrier came away. I bet the hounds were happy with the result though. But IMO any man who works his terriers or lurchers etc. and is putting up videos on that f#####g youtube is a disgrace. The anti's love it and it's more fuel for the anti hunting fire. But then again,,, anyone who feels the need to show off has an ego to build. Don't feed the anti's boys. Quote Link to post

gavmac 0
I had to travel over 300 miles to breed my Border bitch, if you look hard enough you will find a good stud dog.But the same old thing, don't believe everything your told - pick a dog about 5 year old and just by looking at him, you'll know if the dogs any good. If your buying a pup, don't buy unless your sure there from working parents. Hopefully this website will bring genuine working Border dogs to genuine working Border bitches. There are good borders out there its just with them fetching crazy prices there is more people breeding for the ££££££ rather than working . Its the same with the choc patts and in a few years they will start going the same way as the border and Bedlington . The Breeder how can you tell from a dog by looking at him if hes any good ? Its the same with the choc patts and in a few years they will start going the same way as the border and Bedlington . The Breeder how can you tell from a dog by looking at him if hes any good ? As I said, if you pick a good working border stud dog, that has worked for 4 season's, the dog should have working scars i.e. missing teeth, etc, etc, remembering the Border was bred for Otter and Fox control, to go in and if it's quarry refused to bolt, would try to kill it, the same as it's cousin the Lakeland. I personally find it hard to believe that a dog, like the border, from working lines, would not show signs of work after 4 season's. If it had no marks at all, I would probably would not use it. I personally won't breed from a stud dog, unless it can kill a fox. Quote Link to post
hue jeers 6
[There are good borders out there its just with them fetching crazy prices there is more people breeding for the ££££££ rather than working . This is true of everything though, like you said, Chocolate Patterdale's, etc.etc.etc. The thing is, for every decent bloke who wants to look after a breed, Border or not, there is some twat out there who just see's £££££ I could name and shame several of the BIG dog men who do just the same thing to make a bit of doe on the side, Terriers, Spaniels , Labs, Cockers, HPR's etc, the more exotic the breed the more money you pay for a couple of dogs having their leg over.............................................................pathaetic. Supply and demand though. Quote Link to post

smudgersmith 2
My Borders are not from any well known lines, did not pay a fortune for them but one thing they are and thats game little feckers. Do all I ask of them, rats, fox and bushing. Cannot ask for more. There are better breeds of dog out there bred for a single purpose, of which they excel. However my Borders do everything I want them to do, for this and this alone I think they are up there with the others. ! Quote Link to post
