Guest bigredbusa
i had a heart and lung doctor come round to exam me after i contracted industrial asthma while welding and i breathed in burnt paint fumes , this was a year ago and i havent been feeling to bad since i have taken myself out of a welding enviroment but still get a bit wheezy now and then. me and the doc spoke about this and he asked 'do you have any pets ' which i reply 'only the goldfish oh and some ferrets that live in the shed' the doctors face was a picture , he was mortified ' oh no mr brb that wont do you will have to get rid of them' !! just so happens that ferrets are the worst animal to keep regarding allergies and asthma, he said the dry urine is an awful trigger. turns out that i no longer have asthma but the paint fumes damaged my lungs enough that they may heal within 3 years or maybe never , it's called broncal...summinorrather i said that the season starts soon and there is no way im getting rid of em to which he replied ' the wife will have to clean them out ' that was two days ago and the missus is still curled up on the floor laughing . maybe the members of fuzzywuzzyoverweightferrets.com forum could send some ferret nappies my way . this week sucks and that was the icing on the cake Quote Link to post

JoseiesMom 0
I was diagnosed with allergy related asthma too and my Dr. told me I needed to live in a bubble! I told her she needed to get me really good drugs! She did! I am NOT about to give up the lifestyle and the companions that keep me happy just so I can live a long miserable life! If you'd install proper indoor plumbed toilets for your ferrets- you wouldn't suffer so! Cheers, Kim Quote Link to post
Kay 3,709
My husband reacts terribly to the ferrets so much so it can & has hospitalised him, he dosent only sneeze & struggle to breath his whole body reacts, reddening of the skin My advice to lessen the symptoms is to keep them outside & if your partner suffers change your clothes before coming into contact with them as i do Quote Link to post
