Neil,

It does seem like thieving is getting all too commonplace.Hopefully they get caught. Also,if you know about it,and you don't speak up,to ME,you're guilty too.I understand folks not wanting to bring heat down on themselves by telling, but in this case, telling, doesn't make you a snitch.NOT telling, however makes you a bitch.I 've told before about getting dogs stolen, and supposed "friends" knowing, and not saying a word.Hence, they are no longer "friends",and I've cut all ties.I was told all excuses,"Man,I was afraid they'd shoot my house up".It doesn't matter.I have better sense than to give up a person who is willing to tell me.I will use other means to expose the thief, without getting the person who told me involved.I hope this turns out well.Too bad we can't legally take the situation in our own hands.and like Iraq, the first time a hand, the next the head.Take care

I heard the other day that some men went to Dublin port to look for stolen terriers. Although they didn't get their own there was 2 black working terriers in a crate on a greyhound transporter. I'm not saying they were stolen but that's one way they leave the country or enter it.

We're just hearing of some of the stolen dogs. It seems a lot of boys in the West and down Limerick and Cork way seem to accept it as part of the game. I personally know boys who've had terriers stolen but will buy a stolen terrier, no questions asked.

It's JMHO but there seems to be two main types of thieves and two ways they find your terriers. There's also two mainway of stopping them.

Knackers- they find terriers by either spotting them or while caseing your place. They might follow you from a walk or a show. They might knock on your door and with no reply take a walk around the back.

Settled scum- These usually find out about your terriers by buying a pup of you, using your stud dog or spotting your terriers as they drive by.

Security and don't have scum in your yard.

I make no appologies for sounding racist.

This is unbelievable.More and more every week.

There are terrier men in this country who know where these are going, has to be.

Over the years there have been too many of these scumbags getting away with it.

This is only a small island and everyone knows someone no matter what part of the country you are in and word gets around when new dogs crop up.

And I dont think its knackers all the time maybe sometimes but these are digging mens dogs so they are being fingered as far as i 'm concerned.

I think its time to put the meanest dog back out on a chain again.

And Neil I think theres only one way to stop them and make a example for the rest to see.

As soon as I hear of a dog for sale I'll be straight onto you.

Very few working terrier people offer or have dogs for sale at this time of year.
