Guest NICOLA Posted August 25, 2008 Report Share Posted August 25, 2008 probably going to get a load of shit for putting this but hey bu*ger it its how i felt first of all let me get my point across to those people who will say i am spitting my dummy out because i didnt win a piece of ribbon i can promise you its not i just show my dogs for the crack and go to meet new people and there were some good folk at this show but i now understand why people slate so called WORKING dog shows! entered my bull cross in the bull class and he came no were which as i said is fair enough the bulls that won probly deserved it the thing that annoyed me was after the class the judge came over and started asking about my dog saying what a tremendous animal he was he obviously saw my puzzeld face and then he replied well its a beauty pagent here isnt it and ures is a bit jarred up! people ud start moanin!! what do these people expect when they go to a working dog show exactly? the dog which i had with me has been worked hard every week since he was old enough!! surely if a judge thought a dog was tremendous he would of picked it and thought f*ck what people think? obviously not he was to scared what the do gooders would say! and also dont get me wrong not slagging this bloke as he seemed a nice fella but for f*cksake get some balls!! went to this show because i heard it was hardcore dogs and working judges who like working dogs! oh well rant over just had to get it out my system!! Im surprised at that Nicola.......the judge is a good working dog man and i can assure you no restrictions were given on what "working marks" a dog has to have/not have by the organisers. Sorry if your not happy, but, speaking from experience, judging is a thankless task and , in all honesty, you cannot please every one. Next year there will be a different judge and he may pick differently....JD I UNDERSTAND THAT JUDGING IS A THANKLESS TASK AND A VERY HARD JOB I WOULDNT LIKE TO DO IT!! AND I QUITE AGREE YOUR NEVER GOING TO PLEASE EVERYONE THIS BLOKE SEEMED A VERY NICE GENUINE FELLA JUST THOUGHT IT WAS A SHAME THAT HE THOUGHT IT WAS A BEAUTY PAGENT AND MY DOG WOULD SET PEOPLE OFF MOANING AS HE WAS A BIT JABBELED UP! IM NOT DISSAPOINTED MY DOG DIDNT WIN ANYTHING AS WORK COMES FIRST SHOWING IS JUST A BIT OF FUN AT THE END OF THE DAY BUT IT DOES MAKE YOU UNDERSTAND WHY PEOPLE SLATE WORKING SHOWS WHEN YOU GET COMMENTS LIKE THAT RIGHT FROM THE JUDGES MOUTH ESPECIALLY IF HE THOUGHT THE DOG WAS A TREMENDOUS ANIMAL! NOT SLATING THE OTHER DOGS WHO WON EITHER AS THEY WERE GOOD DOGS! I managed 2 2nd place rosettes with a narrow back little liver coloured bitch and some fat pie eating russell that belongs to a lad on here , long drive back listening to Wilf moan his arse off again as per fooking usual.
