P.Carter 0
Done a search on the subject of Insurance for when I finally get out shooting and found a few different topics on 3 options to go with, as far as Insurance and Membership goes. Could anyone shed any light on what is the best option to go with, B.A.S.C, S.A.C.S or B.A.S.A, because as I understand it, S.A.C.S are the cheapest and B.A.S.C are the most expensive, but offer the best cover... The second question is, will having any criminal convictions affect how much you pay, or if you are even eligible for membership with all 3 providers? Thanks, any help is always greatly appreciated, sorry I keep making loads of different topics, but I can't find any that answer my doubts or questions when I use the search function, I dare say this will be the last topic either. Thanks again. Quote Link to post
rick12345 181
BASC is the best cover and the most reliable. BASA arnt very good service. You would be lucky to get your membership card before its due for renewal. Also BASA do want to know if you have criminal convictions although i dont know if it affects the price you pay. I always go with BASC anyway, better cover and much more relaible. Quote Link to post

Coney 3
I am with the BASC...expensive I know but I've always been with them, mind you the BASA is worth it for the money and the cover is quite good too! Quote Link to post

I have also spoken to quite a few people on the same subject, different forum, and the same applies. And as for the 4 weeks it took to receive your card from basa you must be one of the lucky ones. I had my membership pack from basc within a week. You also get subsription to the basc magazine, which isnt everybodys cup of tea i know but i find it quite interesting. basc also have their own legal representatives and specialise in shooting and country sports. As i said in my first post basc are more reliable and a better proposition even though they are more expensive. Basa is for kids and part time shooters. Quote Link to post

martin 332
I was a member of B.A.S.C. for many years, but, they are now a money making bunch of turncoats.I was told by a B.A.S.C. representative that they were happy that the police were making new people to centrefire shooting take a mentor on their licence. Now this might not seem bad to some people, but,it is not a legal requirement, and,as such, they should be in a position to fight your side against ACPO.Instead they are working with the police to make it even harder on the shooting community. And,that is why I joined the S.A.C.S. and,I am very happy with them, not only are they a hell of a lot cheaper, but, you actually get a reply from then when you contact them.I would without doubt recommend them to anyone involved in any fieldsports.....................Martin.
